The Recreation Program has been a cherished summer tradition in the Summer Village of Gull Lake for decades, bringing children together for fun, friendship, and memorable experiences within the community.
Today, the program welcomes children ages 5 to 12 and is open to both summer visitors and full-time village residents. It provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where kids can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the summer months.
Each weekday, children can take part in Kids Kapers from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., which includes crafts, games, and other creative activities. In the afternoon, Surf ’n Sand runs from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., giving children the opportunity to enjoy supervised beach time and outdoor fun.
In addition to the daily programming, the Recreation Program includes special summer highlights such as weekly movie nights, bingo nights, a sleepover at the hall, and a variety of group field trips. These activities help create lasting memories while encouraging children to build friendships and feel connected to the Gull Lake community.
The program is operated by a dedicated volunteer board and continues to thrive thanks to the support of fundraising efforts, community donations, and the Summer Village Council. This support allows the program to remain accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for the families who participate each year.
As a community, we hope the Recreation Program continues to be a summer highlight for every child who attends. The Recreation Director and Assistant play an important role in bringing the program to life each day, ensuring children are safe, engaged, and excited to participate in everything the summer has to offer.
