Council Meetings
Council has set a regular meeting schedule. Meetings will be on the third Friday of each month at 3:00.
The September meeting will be held on Sept. 17th. The next meeting will be on Oct. 15th, 2021.
Conference call or Zoom options may be available in the future.
Web Site Update
Council has selected a local vendor to update the village website. Congratulations to EDGE Marketing & Design who were the low-cost option with the most features to offer. Watch for updates this fall/winter.
Beer and Wine Tasting
The Community League will be hosting a Beer and Wine tasting event on Oct. 2nd to raise funds for the new playground at the hall. The event has been SOLD OUT. Thank you to the Community for your support.
The event is sponsored by Blindman Brewing and the Wooden Shoe Liquor Store.
Realignment of Two Public Beach Paths
Two paths will be realigned in Sept. The path across from the Wooden Shoe and east Cyrene. Both public access paths led directly into residential front yards and it made good sense to realign these two paths. Residents are encouraged to use historical beach paths wherever possible, minimizing the need for clearing of trees. The Good Neighbour Policy should be promoted.
Retirement Notice
After fours years of being the Village CAO, Therese Kleeberger has advised Council she will be retiring at the end of 2021. Although disappointed, we are losing such a valuable resource, we wish Therese the best of luck in her retirement. The posting to find a new CAO can be found at:
Boat Lifts and Docks
We hope that all boat lifts and docks have been removed from the water and located to not create a hazard throughout the winter.
Public Works
Beach maintenance will be completed at the end of September as per the requirements of our lease agreement with the province. The Village has made a concerted effort to remove the willows and some weeds within the beach lease.
